SAP S/4HANA and PPM

What is the roadmap?

The development of S/4HANA is progressing steadily and some companies are already using the latest ERP release with the name "S/4HANA". On the way to S/4HANA, it is not only important to find out which changes to the Core ERP are to be expected, but also in which direction the add-on solutions, such as SAP PPM or SAP CRM, are being developed and what consequences this can have for customers.

The question that arises specifically for SAP PPM is: How does the solution integrate into S/4HANA? What are the innovations?

Goal: Consolidation of SAP tools for portfolio and project management

There are currently various SAP tools for portfolio and project management:

PPM (Project Portfolio Management)
ERP PS (Project System)
CPM (Commercial Project Management)
IM (Innovation Management) and
Smart business cockpits.

SAP now calls the entire solution portfolio for project management “ePPM” (Enterprise Project Portfolio Management). The individual applications are integrated with each other and also embedded in the ERP. In the medium term, the individual applications are to be more closely interlinked in order to enable uniform operation and configuration.

SAP PPM Version 6.1 mit S/4HANA koppelbar

PPM 6.1 als eigenes System kann auch mit einem S/4HANA ERP-System gekoppelt werden. Diese Option ist interessant für Kunden, die das ERP auf S/4HANA heben und PPM 6.1 weiter nutzen wollen.

Cloud Lösung als Option

Neben EPPM in SAP S/4HANA on Premise gibt es noch die Möglichkeit der Nutzung von EPPM in SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

Zusätzlich arbeitet SAP am Ausbau und an der Erweiterung der Lösung SAP S/4HANA Cloud for Projects – eine Lösung in der Business Technology Plattform für ein zentrales Ressourcenmanagement und für kollaboratives Projektmanagement.
